If you love a good checklist, thrive on colour coded calendars, or feel calm when every detail is neatly arranged, you might be wondering… do I really need a wedding planner? The answer is yes. And it has nothing to do with whether you are capable, disciplined, or...

The Storybook Passport // Journal 001 šŸ“ Lake Como, The Storybook Passport // Journal 001
šŸ“ Lake Como, Italy

For the longest time, this was simply a dream.

A collection of saved photographs.
A list of places I hoped I’d visit one day.
A quiet vision of where I wanted Storybook & Co. to grow.

Earlier this year, that dream became reality.

I found myself standing on the shores of Lake Como, walking through remarkable villas, meeting talented planners and creatives, building relationships with local suppliers, and experiencing one of the world’s most iconic wedding destinations through the eyes of the people who know it best.

It reminded me that the most inspiring places aren’t just beautiful.

They’re built on the people behind them.
The conversations.
The craftsmanship.
The traditions.
The stories.

That’s where The Storybook Passport began.

Not as a travel diary, but as a collection of the places, people and experiences that continue to shape the way we design celebrations.

Every destination has something to teach us.

Every conversation leaves a lasting impression.

And every journey helps us return home with fresh ideas, deeper connections, and a renewed appreciation for what we do.

Every passport starts with a single stamp.

Ours just happens to begin in Lake Como.

Welcome to Journal 001. šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹šŸ¤

The Storybook Passport is our ongoing collection of destinations we’ve explored, venues we’ve visited, creatives we’ve met, and the inspiration we’ve gathered along the way. We can’t wait to share more with you.

Hi, I’m Kirsty. šŸ¤ If you’re new here, welcome. An Hi, I’m Kirsty. šŸ¤

If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been following along for a while, I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m the founder of Storybook & Co. The one behind the emails, timelines, emergency kits, dress fluffing, buttonhole fixing, and quietly making sure your wedding day feels calm, seamless and unmistakably you.

Outside of weddings, I’m a mum to four incredible kids who remind me every day that the little moments are usually the ones that matter most.

I love beautiful places, good food, meaningful conversations, and meeting wonderful people wherever life takes me.

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to travel through Europe, learning from some of the world’s most talented planners, venues and creatives. It reminded me that we never stop learning, and that every experience helps me become a better planner for the couples who trust me with one of the biggest days of their lives.

I’ll be heading back again later this year and next, continuing to build relationships and create beautiful celebrations both here in Australia and abroad.

I’ve also been told I have a resting b*tch face… šŸ˜‚

I promise it’s wildly inaccurate.

I’m usually the one laughing, chatting to complete strangers, or somehow becoming the designated selfie stick. Not because I’m trying to take over the photo… I’m just almost 6’2ā€, so apparently it’s become my role in life.

The longer I’ve done this, the more I’ve realised people aren’t just choosing a wedding planner.

They’re choosing the person they’ll trust to stand beside them on one of the biggest days of their lives.

And that’s exactly the planner I strive to be.

I’m looking forward to sharing more with you. Not just the beautiful weddings, but the people behind them, the places they take me, the lessons I learn along the way, and the moments in between that make me love this job so much.

Thank you for being here.

I’d love to know who’s on the other side of the screen, so whether you’re planning a wedding, work in the industry, or simply love beautiful celebrations… come and say hello below. šŸ¤

Day 2 on Lake Como and a little insight into what Day 2 on Lake Como and a little insight into what this journey really looks like behind the scenes.

This isn’t just about seeing beautiful venues. It’s about understanding them.

Walking through Villa del Balbianello, you begin to see how guest flow actually works in real time. Where a ceremony naturally sits. How transitions feel. What’s required logistically to bring something seamless to life in a space like this.

At Villa Pessina, over the longest, most beautiful lunch, it became about connection - time spent with local vendors, understanding how they work, how they communicate, and what truly matters when planning from across the world.

Victoria Beach in Menaggio offered a completely different perspective again - relaxed, coastal, and a reminder that luxury doesn’t always mean formal. It can be effortless, intentional, and experience-led.

And something really special to close the day, an evening hosted at Figli dei Fiori Bistrot, where we were invited to step into the creative process ourselves. Working alongside the team, we created our own floral arrangements for the table centrepieces, guided by the beautiful work of Figli dei Fiori Como.

It’s moments like this that deepen your understanding, not just of how something looks, but what actually goes into bringing it to life.

Because this trip, and everything around it, is an investment.

Not just in me, but in my clients.
In understanding the logistics, the nuances, the realities of planning in Europe.
In building relationships with vendors I can trust implicitly.
In being able to recommend spaces and teams with full confidence, not just from research, but from experience.

The planners tour is just one part of that. There’s been so much more behind the scenes to make this trip what it is.

And that’s the difference. Always šŸ¤

Day 3 on Lake Como and it just kept getting better Day 3 on Lake Como and it just kept getting better šŸ¤

We began the morning at Villa Regina - intimate, layered with history, and one of those spaces that feels quietly special the moment you step inside. The kind of venue that suits something deeply personal and considered.

From there, lunch at Una Finestra Sul Lago which is quite literally ā€œa window to the lakeā€ and honestly, it couldn’t be more fitting. Long tables, soft breeze, that endless blue backdrop - the kind of setting that slows everything down in the best way.

Then Villa Pizzo and wow. Expansive, iconic, and full of possibility. From the waterfront ceremony spots to the layered gardens, it’s a venue that can hold both grandeur and intimacy so effortlessly. You can completely see why it’s one of the most sought-after on the lake.

And then onto the water. Cruising from Villa Pizzo into Como as the afternoon softened into evening, one of those pinch-me moments.

Ending the day at Terminus for the gala dinner, surrounded by the most beautiful group of creatives - it was one of those days you don’t forget in a hurry.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it šŸ¤

There’s something I want to share honestly… Next There’s something I want to share honestly…

Next week I’m boarding a plane to Europe, on my own.
For incredible opportunities, beautiful collaborations, and the kind of growth I’ve dreamed about for years.

But if I’m being completely real… I’m also incredibly scared.

I’m going to miss my family.
I’m going to miss the comfort of home.
I’m going to miss the familiar rhythm of everyday life.

There’s a quiet vulnerability that comes with stepping so far outside your comfort zone - especially when you’re used to being the one holding everything together.

But I keep reminding myself…
Growth rarely happens in comfort.
It lives in the unknown.
In the moments where your heart races a little faster and you choose to go anyway.

So this is me choosing to go.
Choosing to be brave.
Choosing to trust that the discomfort means I’m moving in the right direction.

Because behind the nerves is something really special… new connections, new inspiration, and new stories waiting to be woven into the work I love so much.

I have a feeling many of you have felt this too - that mix of excitement, nerves, and stepping into the unknown.
It’s uncomfortable… but also where the magic begins.

Here’s to doing things that feel a little scary.
Here’s to growth.
And here’s to coming home with a heart (and suitcase) full of stories.

2025, you were a big one. A year of growth in way 2025, you were a big one.

A year of growth in ways that didn’t always look loud, but felt solid. Rebranding the business. Finding my feet again after having the twins. Learning how to hold ambition and family in the same hands.

This year was about becoming more confident, more aligned, more me. Finding my people. Creating memories that actually matter. Building a business that feels like home, not just work.

To our beautiful 2025 couples, thank you.
Thank you for trusting us, for inviting us into something so deeply personal, and for allowing us to help tell and share your story. It is a privilege we never take lightly šŸ¤

And to our 2026 couples *squeals* - we are so excited.
So excited to walk alongside you, to create something meaningful together, and to see what unfolds in the year ahead.

As I look toward 2026, my heart feels open and hopeful. More travel. More overseas events. More once-in-a-lifetime moments. More capacity to dream bigger, go further, and say yes to incredible things.

Here’s to a new year filled with intention, adventure, love, and magic, for my family, our couples, and everything still unfolding ✨

Hello, 2026. We’re ready. Who is with us!?!
Merry Christmas, from our little family to yours šŸŽ„ Merry Christmas, from our little family to yours šŸŽ„

From our small corner of beautiful chaos - the loud laughs, the quiet moments, the messy and the magical, we’re feeling incredibly grateful.

Grateful for our people, our community, and the families, couples and creatives who allow us to be part of their stories.

May your day be filled with warmth, connection, and moments that feel like home.

With love,
